The Bookshop on the Heath is located at the top of Tranquil Vale in the lovely village of Blackheath in south east London between Lewisham and Greenwich. The shop first became a bookshop in 1949 and has remained one ever since.
Today we stock a wide range of books, from everyday reading copies to collectable modern first editions, fine bindings and antiquarian books.
The shop also stocks a range of original and high-quality reproduction maps and prints, together with some original art by local artist Tony Lord and others. Our stock of posters includes a selection of original film posters.
We have a small range of postcards and greetings cards showing scenes of new and old Blackheath & Greenwich, some showing scenes painted by Tony Lord.
We have stock displayed over five rooms and two corridor areas, and we are always happy for visitors to spend time browsing; equally, if you have something specific in mind, please do not hesitate to ask.
