The Bookshop on the Heath is located at the top of Tranquil Vale in Blackheath Village, London, where we enjoy open views across Blackheath to Greenwich and the City of London. We are an independent bookshop, stocking collectable second-hand books, together with other printed collectables such as engravings, maps, and original film posters.
We aim to stock a good range of literature, and have a wide range of topics, including vintage children’s books, poetry, plays, crime & adventure, military & political history, travel & topography, art & photography, religious traditions, local history, science fiction, biographies.
The Bookshop is privileged to keep the tradition of bookselling in Blackheath alive into the 21st century. In 2014 we were a winner in the Time Out awards local shop category, and are featured in the latest edition of Booklovers’ London.

We are one of London’s oldest second-hand bookshops, and have been in business at this location since 1949.
